Current Musical Obsession: N.A.S.A.'s "The Spirit of Apollo"
I know, I know, I have only been posting about music but I guess that's what's been speaking to me of late... at least what's been getting me through the 10 hour work days where I'm pretty much sewing the same bag repeatedly. Well, that and my friends' podcast, which I will surely post about soon!
N.A.S.A. (musically) is the brainchild of two musical producers, Squeak E. Clean and DJ Zegon, from LA and Brazil, respectively (standing for North America South America). Their mission is to bring musicians together that otherwise would never collaborate, from any genre or place, and mix them into quirky hip hop tracks. Their album "The Spirit of Apollo" was released in 2009 but I only heard of it this year. It features David Byrne, Chuck D, RZA, George Clinton, M.I.A., Tom Waits, Spank Rock, Kanye West, Del, and many other talented musical legends. The result is a fun as hell.
Their videos are also pretty trippy, check out this one for "Strange Enough" featuring Ol' Dirty Bastard, Fatlip, and Karen O. You can listen to the album on Spotify here.
